International Relations

The importance of strategic communication, dispute prevention,  and conflict resolution skills is especially important in the international arena. Pacific Resolutions has provided our negotiation, mediation, and facilitation services to departments of nation-states as well as to international institutions. We specialize in designing and implementing processes that enable diplomats and interested parties to communicate effectively with one another and ultimately reach an agreement.

Examples

-  In support of the constitutional development process in Somalia, Pacific Resolutions provided strategic advice to senior UN staff including Special Representatives of the Secretary-General on how best to respond to and mediate conflict.

- Designed and facilitated conflict resolution and negotiation processes involving multiple countries (for instance, the resolution of transboundary water issues in Central Asia) as well as internally (for instance, in the context of the return to civilian government in Fiji).
- Mediated bilateral dialogue between states over boundary issues, for instance between British Guyana and Venezuela.
