Tourism and Recreation

Tourism and public recreation almost always have strong relationships to natural resource values and environmental quality. Conflicts with other resource users and environmental protection, and between different types of commercial and public recreational activities can be very intense.

Example: Adventure Tourism Tenure Harmonization (2006-2007)
Retained to facilitate discussions between the adventure tourism and heli-ski industries in British Columbia, a coalition of environmental organizations, and three provincial ministries in relation to a variety of issues in relation to the terms and conditions associated with park use permits (in particular the length of tenure and procedures for mid-term replacement) and the harmonization between park use permits and commercial recreation tenures issued on crown land.
